Matt has more than 15 years of experience in the ICT / IP sectors and has acted in many high-value ICT / IP transactions.

Matt regularly acts for IP and technology generators and owners in relation to all aspects of IP / ICT transactions including commercialisation, licensing, research and development arrangements, joint ventures and syndicates, outsourcing arrangements, offshoring arrangements, systems supply and integration transactions, software and SAAS terms, cloud contracts, IP protection and structuring, IP protection and enforcement actions.

IP/ ICT clients have included public Universities, a multinational ICT systems and services supplier, public ASX listed companies, private companies, IP generators and owners.  

 

Matt has acted for an ASX-listed biotech in relation to a broad range of regulatory and licensing matters including TGA & APVMA applications.

Matt has experience in negotiating transactions with many significant research institutions including CSIRO, Melbourne University, Monash University and Swinburne University.

Matt has acted for energy efficiency businesses, energy retailers and the developers of novel generation and supply solutions. His experience extends to the preparation of customer terms (market offers), regulatory dealings with the ESC and IPART in relation to licensing and related regulatory matters, regulatory advice in relation to novel tariff offerings, regulatory advice in relation to customer data and usage, retail electricity licence applications and variations, regulatory advice on relation to compliant business operations (e.g billing, complaints, hardship, no canvass lists etc).

Matt has acted for multinational and ASX listed clients in the most complex and high-value ICT and IP litigation. References are available.

As an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Law Matt also regularly assists businesses of all sizes with their day to day legal requirements such as Corporations Act compliance and directors duties, terms and conditions, employment matters, Consumer Law, restrictive trade practices, distribution and licensing arrangements, franchising arrangements, shareholder and venture arrangements, trusts and trust disputes, security and PPSA arrangements, insolvency claims and liquidations, trade disputes, and leasing.
